The "AgrigentoNoir" mystery festival is back.
From July 23 to 25, 2025, the AgrigentoNoir Crime Fiction Festival returns to Agrigento, in its fifth edition, to the historic setting of the former Collegio dei Filippini. This year's event is part of the celebrations for Agrigento as Italian Capital of Culture 2025. A press conference will be held on Monday, July 21, at 11:00 a.m., with the participation of: Franco Miccichè, Mayor of Agrigento; Costantino Ciulla, Councilor for Culture; Alessandro Accurso Tagano, Festival organizer; Salvo Di Caro, artistic director; and Maria Concetta De Marco, host of two events.
The conference will present the Festival's rich program, which has established itself as a hub for noir and investigative fiction enthusiasts, with the participation of authors, publishers, actors, and professionals from the publishing and cultural sectors. The Festival will open on July 23rd with writers François Morlupi and Andrea Cotti, preceded by a special presentation of the "Isole Niure" project, curated by Salvo Di Caro, Rosario Russo, Erika Carta, and Roberto Mandracchia.
But the public's and press' attention will be focused on one of this year's most anticipated guests: Marco Bocci, renowned actor and writer, will be the star of the evening on July 24th. He will be joined by Stefania Crepaldi and Igor Cipollina in conversation, in an evening that promises emotion, literature, and reflections on the boundaries between fiction, cinema, and reality. On July 25th, the writers Salvo Toscano and Francesco Musolino will close the festival with an evening dedicated to journalistic reporting and investigative fiction.
Coordinating the meetings are three leading figures in the local cultural scene: Maria Concetta De Marco, Salvo Di Caro, and Rosario Russo. The AgrigentoNoir Crime Fiction Festival represents a precious opportunity to celebrate Mediterranean culture, writing, and identity through the allure of mystery and noir stories.
